February was National Embroidery Month and there was a month long celebration on Instagram.

Each day there was a prompt for a photo and the participants posted a picture based upon the prompt.

To make it even more fun there were generous sponsors that had freebies and giveaways throughout the month, with a big grand finale giveaway at the end of the month. There were so many prizes and we are so grateful to all the sponsors. They were so generous.

A special thank you to Sue O’Very at and Evy Hawkins at for being such wonderful hostesses.

Here is a summary of the end of the month prizes. The entries were through February 28, 2019. On March 1st, the three hostesses got together (remotely) to compile the list of contestants on a master list. We randomly assigned a number to each contestant, and entered the numbers into the electronic random number generator. (Technology is so wonderful. None of this would have existed without it.) The prizes were divided into three categories:

  • Grand Prizes (sponsors who gave 4 of each prize) - four winners

  • Individual Prizes (sponsors who gave 1 prize) - five winners

  • Runner-up Hostess Gifts - seven winners

Grand Prizes with four winners

Each one of the sponsors shown above were so kind to donate the prizes shown. Not shown with their prizes above are:

  • Sudberry House - They donated CD’s of machine embroidery designs to all four winners

  • Sulky - They donated spools of thread to all four winners

  • A Bit of a Stitch (Evy Hawkins) - Donated a variety of notions to all four winners

Individual Prizes with five winners

Yes, there are four sponsors and five winners! One item to one winner. The winners will be surprised which was their prize. We had to leave something fun.

Runner-up Hostess Gifts with seven winners

The hostesses Sue O’Very and Evy Hawkins, also generously donated gift certificates to seven runner-ups, and SWAK Embroidery graciously included gift certificates as well. Thank you ladies for doing this extra bonus.

Thank you once again to Sue and Evy, and all the wonderful sponsors. You made this event truly a celebration!
